How Much Copper Peptide Serum for the Scalp?

The honest answer is less than you think, applied more carefully than you probably are.

The number

For a spray applicator, roughly 8 to 12 sprays covers a crown and mid-scalp area, once daily. For a dropper, roughly 1ml, which is a lot of individual drops and the reason droppers are a poor fit for scalps.

A 30ml bottle at that rate is around a month, which is deliberately one saturation block. If your bottle is lasting three months, you are underdosing. If it is gone in twelve days, you are drowning your hair rather than treating your scalp.

The thing that actually matters more than the amount

Where it lands. Doubling your dose does nothing if all of it is on hair.

This is the single biggest failure in scalp application and it is why a lot of people conclude a product does nothing. The concentration on the label is irrelevant if the active never reaches skin.

How to actually cover an area

  1. Dry or towel-dried hair. Soaking wet dilutes and runs.
  2. Make a part. An actual parting, scalp visible.
  3. Two or three sprays along that line, aimed at the scalp, nozzle close.
  4. Move the part about an inch and repeat.
  5. Four or five parts covers a crown area properly.
  6. Work in with fingertips for thirty seconds. Not nails.
  7. Leave it. No rinse, no towel.

The whole thing takes about ninety seconds once it is habit.

Why more is not better

Same reason as the face. GHK-Cu is a signalling molecule and signals saturate. Past the threshold, extra product is not a stronger message, it is just extra product running down your neck.

Overuse also brings the same cycling problem to the scalp. Signs of overuse.

Common mistakes

  • Spraying from a distance like hairspray. It lands on hair. Nozzle close to the part.
  • Applying to one spot repeatedly because that is where you are worried. Cover the area evenly.
  • Applying after styling product. The serum cannot get through. Serum first, always.
  • Rubbing it around with a palm. Most of it ends up on your hand.

Shaved heads and beards

Much easier, and use less. Nothing to part through, so a few sprays and fingertips over the area is enough. Beard application.

Twice daily?

No. Once daily on the scalp. Twice daily is the face protocol and on a scalp it mostly produces buildup without adding signal. The scalp protocol.

The short version

8 to 12 sprays, once daily, delivered along parts with the nozzle close to the scalp, worked in with fingertips. A 30ml bottle should last about a month. Placement beats quantity every time.

Follicle Protocol Serum uses a targeted spray for exactly this reason: a face dropper lands on hair.
