What snail mucin actually is

Snail secretion filtrate is a complex mixture, mostly glycoproteins, hyaluronic acid, glycolic acid at low levels, and various proteins. Its main measurable action on skin is hydration and surface conditioning.

It is genuinely good at that, it is well tolerated, and it feels excellent. The claims that go beyond hydration and comfort are thinner than the enthusiasm suggests.

That makes snail mucin feel more effective in the short term and it is why people abandon copper peptides at week three. Immediate feel and structural change are different outcomes on different clocks, and the product that feels like it is working is not necessarily the one changing anything.

Layering them

No conflict. Snail mucin sits around neutral pH and does not destabilise the copper complex.

Order: copper peptide first on bare skin, let it dry, then snail mucin, then moisturizer. The peptide gets clean access, and the mucin does its surface job on top.

This is arguably a better pairing than either alone, because the copper peptide does nothing for immediate comfort and the mucin covers exactly that gap.

Snail mucin if your priority is hydration, comfort, calming, or you want something that feels good and is almost impossible to react to.

Copper peptides if your priority is the appearance of density and firmness over months, and you are willing to wait and to run a schedule.
