Copper Peptides vs Exosomes

Exosomes are currently the most expensive thing on the shelf and the least settled. Worth being clear about what is genuinely promising and what is marketing running ahead of evidence.
What exosomes are
Small vesicles released by cells, carrying proteins, lipids and RNA, used for cell-to-cell communication. Real biology, genuinely interesting, and an active area of research.
In clinical and procedural settings, particularly when delivered alongside microneedling or in-office treatments, the research interest is legitimate.
Where the scepticism belongs
Three problems with an exosome serum in a bottle:
- Size. Exosomes are vastly larger than a tripeptide. GHK-Cu is a three amino acid molecule. Exosomes are vesicles measured in tens to hundreds of nanometres. Getting something that size through an intact stratum corneum is a serious problem, and the barrier exists precisely to stop it.
- Stability. Biological vesicles are fragile. Keeping them intact and functional in a room-temperature cosmetic for months is a genuine formulation challenge, and few brands publish anything about how they have solved it.
- Disclosure. There is no standardised way brands report exosome content, no agreed potency unit, and often no source clarity. You usually cannot tell what you bought.
None of that means exosomes do not work. It means a topical exosome product is a much bigger act of faith than the price suggests.

The fair version
Being even-handed, because it would be easy to just dunk on this.
Exosomes post-procedure, applied by a practitioner into freshly treated skin, is a different proposition from an exosome serum you buy online and pat onto intact skin. The first has a delivery route. The second is fighting the barrier.
Copper peptides have the opposite profile: modest ambition, plausible delivery, checkable specs. Less exciting, more verifiable.
What to ask before buying an exosome product
- What is the source, and is it disclosed?
- What concentration, in what unit?
- How is stability maintained at room temperature, and for how long?
- Is there any evidence for this product applied to intact skin, rather than post-procedure?
If a brand cannot answer those, the price is not buying you certainty.
Which to pick
Copper peptides if you want something with checkable specifications, a plausible delivery story and a price that does not require faith.
Exosomes if you are having professional treatments and your practitioner uses them as part of that protocol.
